Are you looking for funding to support your research on China? What is the best strategy to follow? Would you like to learn how to maximise your chance of securing funding? Do you want to discuss your questions about funding with experienced speakers and peer audience, and get advice from those who might have gone through the same and already found the answers?

If you said yes to the above questions, then this event is for you.

This event aims to provide graduate students and early career researchers, as well as more seasoned academics who are currently doing China-related research with insights into the process of seeking, applying for, and securing funding. The speakers will not only provide an overview of resources you may consider to use before and after you submit your applications, but also share their expertise, personal experiences, success stories and useful tips to help you find out how to maximise your chance in winning funding for your China-related research, thereby making the funding application process less stressful.

The event will cover topics like:

  • Where to search for major local and external funding opportunities?
  • The do’s and don’ts when applying for funding?
  • Is there a comprehensive step-by-step application guide?
  • How can the Research Portfolio help you find, apply for and accept funding?
  • How to enhance your grant writing skills?
  • Are there any high-output and low-stress application writing strategies?
  • The key issues you should consider when planning, structuring and writing funding applications.

There will be the opportunity to ask questions during the Q&A session and network with the speakers and fellow attendees.
