Position overview

The ANU College of Asia and the Pacific (CAP) leads intellectual engagement with the Asia-Pacific region through research, teaching and contributions to public debate, and seeks to set the international standard for scholarship concerning the region.

 

The Australian Centre on China in the World (CIW) is a research institution established to enhance the existing capabilities of the ANU. It aims to be an integrated, world-leading institution for Chinese Studies and the understanding of the Chinese world — the People’s Republic of China, the Hong Kong and Macau Special Administrative Regions, as well as Taiwan and the Chinese diaspora.

 

The Research Fellow / Fellow will conduct research in modern or contemporary Chinese studies and publish findings in appropriate high-quality journals, edited collections or in monographs, or in other means of research dissemination as well as contributing to CIW’s education program.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD relevant to modern or contemporary China and will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to research, teaching and the supervision of research students. Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills are also required.
