Chinese Studies Association of Australia 19th Biennial Conference 2025
(CSAA 2025)
The Chinese Studies Association of Australia (CSAA) is the leading professional association for China specialists and postgraduate students in Australia. Our membership includes experts across various disciplines, including anthropology, economics, geography, history, language, law, linguistics, political science, sociology, literature and other aspects of Chinese society and culture.
The CSAA convenes a major biennial conference that brings together a diverse range of scholars. The 2025 CSAA Conference will be hosted by the Centre for Contemporary Chinese Studies (CCCS), Asia Institute, University of Melbourne, from 1st to 4th December 2025. Additionally, the CCCS will organise optional local field trips for interested conference participants on 29th and 30th November 2025.
Theme: China Within and Beyond: Perspectives on Change and Continuity
The CSAA 2025 conference will provide an engaging platform for scholars to exchange ideas, debate key issues, and explore the evolving dynamics of China. We invite submission from a broad range of disciplines, including but not limited to language and linguistics, anthropology, literature, geography, history, sociology, political science, economics and business, and law.
We especially encourage PhD students and early career academics to participate and contribute to these critical discussions.
Submit Your Abstract
Scholars interested in presenting at the conference are invited to submit a proposed title, an abstract (up to 200 words), and a brief biography (up to 100 words) by 30th August 2025.
