Over the past decade, the Chinese economy has experienced serious headwinds and challenges. But simultaneously, China has gradually become a global hub of technological advancements and innovation. What is the role of the Chinese government in these profound changes? How has the Chinese government responded and adapted to the challenges and opportunities?
The two-day workshop (19–20 February 2024) welcomes a wide range of quantitative, qualitative, empirical, and theoretical papers that deal with the Chinese government’s involvement in the economy, the Chinese government’s responses to economic challenges or technological advancements, government-business relations, public finance, and other political economy analyses of Chinese politics and the Chinese economy.
Established and emerging scholars in political science, economics, public policy, and other related disciplines are all welcome to participate.
If you are based in Australia and interested in participating, please send a 250-word abstract, a brief CV, and your institutional affiliation to the conference organiser, Dr Fengming Lu (fengming.lu@anu.edu.au), by 20 October 2023.
