China Studies Centre, The University of Sydney
Chinese Australian studies is experiencing something of a timely renaissance. From regional communities to metropolitan areas, researchers, descendants and community leaders are uncovering long-lost stories, collections and artefacts, and revitalising local interest in the field. This is all occurring at a time of rising geopolitical tension on the global stage. This workshop gathers leading and emerging voices in the history and material culture of the field, alongside museum and heritage experts, to assess current and future directions in Chinese Australian studies.
