The Qinghai toad-headed agama are dragon lizards from China that compete for ownership of burrows. These resources are so important for survival that females engage in territorial behaviour to the equal of males, which is unusual in lizards and makes this species particularly informative. In this presentation, I will talk about our work on the territorial behaviour of this and other closely related species, while also providing some background to how the collaboration started and stories from our trips to China.
