Asia Institute Master of Translation program and Centre for Contemporary Chinese Studies presents a series of special seminars and lectures by world-renowned scholar of literary translation Professor John Minford, Australian National University
Professor Minford studied Chinese at Oxford University with David Hawkes, and at the ANU with Liu Ts’un-yan. He has taught in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, New Zealand and Australia. His translations include the last 40 Chapters of The Story of the Stone, Sunzi’s The Art of War, Pu Songling’s Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio, and the I Ching, all with Viking/Penguin and Penguin Classics. Since 2006 he has been Professor of Chinese at the ANU.
