Geremie Barmé is an historian, cultural critic, filmmaker, translator and web-journal editor who works on Chinese cultural and intellectual history from the early modern period (1600s) to the present. His most recent works include The China Story Yearbook 2014: Shared Destiny (edited with Linda Jaivin and Jeremy Goldkorn, available for download here) and Beijing: Contemporary and Imperial (with Lois Conner).
This presentation is held as part of the exhibition Celestial Empire: Life in China, 1644-1911.
